Assistant Designer
The primary role of the Assistant Designer is create Revit or AutoCAD MEP drawings from rough design or wiring concepts provided by design engineers, senior designers, project managers and field staff for commercial and industrial projects. Electrical designs involve power distribution, lighting, controls, instrumentation, fire alarm, security and tel-data.
Duties Include:
• Inputting rough design or drawing information into CAD software and creating final engineered construction drawings
• Running plots of work inputted into CAD software as required and maintain current working sets for office and field staff
• Creating and organizing project or CAD files to be used for future projects
• Maintaining archived files and assist in preparing reproductions as requested
• Working with Design Engineers and Project managers to maintain Record Drawings and Documents
Experience/Skills:
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, AutoCAD MEP and Navisworks experience 3D modeling experience preferred with basic understanding of drafting requirements
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects/priorities
• Understanding of NEC and Building Codes and basic electrical theories
• 2-Year Associate's Degree in Electrical Systems Design or related field of study or equivalent work experience
• Excellent Interpersonal/Communication Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
